Romans 10:9 – ‘thou shalt be saved’

In Bible Verses by News Feed3 Comments

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.Romans 10:9 (KJV)

There are two components to the path described here for salvation. First, we must confess with our mouths the Lord Jesus. A distinction must be made between what most attribute as the meaning of this verse and what it really means. Confessing the Lord Jesus is not just calling His name or stating a belief in Him. It means to truly confess and repent as Yeshua instructed. The second part, believing in our hearts that God has raised Him, is acknowledging that Yeshua is our Lord and Savior who has risen after dying for our sins.

  1. If you will but notice that in Matthew 24:22 if the Lord Christ Jesus had not shorten the days of the tribulation no flesh would be saved,if the Lord’s elect will hardly make it thru the tribulation, what chances would those of the unbeliever have? But for the Lord’s elect the days of the tribulation is shorten to 5 months period.

  3. You can not be saved any other way than those that were saved in the book of Acts. Romans was written by Paul to Christians. They had already obeyed the gospel, they were already saved. Romans 10:9,10 is not a prescription for salvation.
