From the beginning, God made it very clear that the 7th day was hallowed. It is the day that He commanded to hold as the Sabbath, the day of rest. It is the day that Jesus and His disciples held holy. This was established well before Moses and was not changed by our Messiah. He actually saw Sabbath as a day to spread His Father’s Word, and made very clear that adding anything to this Commandment was not acceptable, such as not even saving those who needed saving.
Over the past 2000 years, the Sabbath has been changed in most Christian churches to be held on Sunday, the 1st or 8th day of the week, depending on how you look at it. There is no true Biblical guidance that points to having a Sunday Sabbath, but it has been accepted nonetheless. Numerous reasons are given, but we must turn to His Word and ask an honest question…Did Yeshua say to change the Sabbath? Did He say to not keep His Father’s Commandments?
In our first official podcast (technically the second since we covered the Judeo Christian Church Podcast in episode 0 last week), we covered this controversial topic. Below, you’ll find the video of the Saturday Sabbath podcast and you can find the notes from the podcast below the video.
Genesis 2:1-3 – (KJV)
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made.
And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all His work which God created and made.
David C Pack’s response to this passage:
“While no one should have missed, or misunderstood, the weight of this passage, almost everyone has. And rather than examine it, and the many others on the subject, most merely swallow popular thinking without resistance because it is easy.”
Exodus 20:8-11 – (KJV)
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Why Sunday is Accepted
- Lack of information
- Following the church leaders
- Following the crowd
- How can so many people be wrong?
- Unnecessary separation from the Jews
- Replacement theology is simply wrong
- Read scripture and understand love
- Intentional or not, it’s there
- “As long as we give some day…”
- “OUR church is on Sundays”
The Sunday Deception
And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
On Motza’ei-Shabbat, when we were gathered to break bread, Sha’ul addressed them. Since he was going to leave the next day, he kept talking until midnight.

- Google it and read Chapter 10
Colossians 2:14-17 – (KJV)
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
The “Why” Doesn’t Matter
- Plenty of speculation
- The Catholic Church…
- Satan’s Machinations
- The Bible
- Clear instructions
- No command to change
- Matthew 5:16-20
Matthew 5:16-19 – (KJV)
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Daniel 7:25 – (KJV)
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
The Sabbath has been, is, and always will be on Saturday from sundown Friday until shortly after sundown on Saturday.
